Hello,
Can anyone give me an idea what the going rate is for pianists for 6 hour gigs on Thanksgiving and Christmas at an upscale hotel restaurant in South Florida? Thank you!

Dunno, but if you don't get answers from people who really know, maybe tell them $100 (presumably plus tips) and see what they say -- and if they balk at it, be ready to do it for less if you feel like it.

I might say a higher amount but since you are needing to ask, I'm guessing it means you're not very experienced with it, at least in that area, and so I think probably you shouldn't shoot higher for starters. Maybe I'm way low. If anybody answers who's in a position to know, forget what I said. smile

OK. No one was able to give me an idea but thank you anyway. I think $75 per hour sounds reasonable. I have only played private home based Christmas gigs and charged $100 per hour because I have to give up my Christmas day. And normal home gigs are not more than 3 hours.

I'd be more inclined to charge $100 an hour for the gig but I have no idea what the going rate is.
