Looking for a forum where I might ask some questions about the worth of a restored antique piano?

Ok It's a Mathushek piano with a serial number of 72280. I do not know the value or when it may have been manufactured. Trying to gather that. It has been fully restored -- inside and out. Its an amazing piece that works! I just have to sell before we move across the country. Going to work on the pics for you.

Hi, and welcome to Piano World!

It is really hard to say what your prospect would be worth... there are literally thousands of old upright pianos still around from the glory days of the piano.

Even if the piano has had some restoration, I can't see it being as good as some of the newer uprights on the market today.

With that said, if the piano is in good condition and holds a tuning well, I'd say maybe around $800 to $1200. But, that is just a shot in the dark...

Good luck!

It's impossible to give an accurate value of a piano from pictures alone without looking at it, listening to the tone, checking the hammers, etc.

I can see from the pictures of the keys that they are not level. This tells me that the piano will likely also need regulation too.

Just because it has been refinished means nothing if no work has been done on the insides by a reputable, qualified technician.

Pretty wood finsih, but it's basically worthless as a musical instrument. I know that's not what you want to hear, but it is sadly true.
