Ok, i have a 1968 Wurlitzer spinet, and it was at the end of its service life. I carried it outside(with help) and started to dismantle it. I pulled out the action, which sucked. There are 88 stickers connected to the keys. After that, i started to de-string. Being me, i got 2 sockets, one with an Allen wrench in it and one without, and put them together to make a tuning pin puller. Thank god for drills. The strings where then cut and the pins removed. All of the keys were removed, and so was the keybed. Then came the part of removing the plate. Ooh was it heavy. I then proceeded to clean the case, and then fit my Yamaha YPG-235 into the case. The soundboard is still intact, and it amplifies the sound quite a bit.

As I just traded in my Wurlitzer spinet (1958) towards a new Kawai CA95.

The store will be looking to find a new owner, for the spinet.

Any idea what the before and after weight (without keyboard) of that piano is? This wouldn't be a bad project for someone who would like to have a keyboard and a computer monitor in front of it.

Well, the plate was a solid 250lbs, the tuning pins, springs and action was probably 50lbs. Probably around 50-150lbs now. Its light enough my floor doesnt buckle under its weight.

I trust you removed the lead weights in the keys as well ... ?
