Hey, folks. Last Sunday, I bought a whompin' box of sheet music from a friend of mine, popular music from the first half of the 20th C. Most of it is from the 20s, 30s, and 40s.

I want to share this fun foxtrot with you. It's not played pristinely, and the piano needs a little shoring up in the tuning department, but for sheer entertainment value, here it is:

"Tell Me You Love Me" by Hare and King.

It is from this collection:

and it starts like this:

Hope you like it!

I loved it! And I want the whole box of music laugh This is wonderful stuff, and I play tunes from that era for two assisted living and one Alzheimer's homes. There's just so much one could learn, even from the well-known tunes/songs of that era, much less a treasure trove like you found.

And I can't play any where near as up-tempo and jauntily as you did, and they still love it.

Thanks so much for posting.

Hi, friends! Sorry it took me so long to reply. eek I'm glad you liked it. I'm working on two others that I hope to be able to post this weekend. These tunes are easy to read, but not that easy to play! They remind me a lot of playing Bach because of all the articulation and voicing issues. grin

Well, you can't have it! grin You'll have to find your own box of music... Actually, I have some duplicates, now, so PM me, Cathy! laugh

Thanks for posting this, carey! Aaron1912 has a TON of great music from this era. I subscribed to his channel early in my YouTubification. I consulted many of his vids while deciding what tempo to use for this one. Fox trot tempos vary widely (as you will see if you listen to my next two postings, yet to come)!

Thanks for listening, people!

Absolutely delightful Andy. Your playing always brings a smile or a sigh (a good sigh) or both.
