Thanks a lot to once again to all the listeners for their kind feedback on RST members' very first recital. And of course a lot of thanks and congrats to Recaredo, Wayne, Dipsy and Rossy for contributing their wonderful performances to make this recital so enjoyable!

Wayne can make you do that laugh Thanks Wayne once again, without you Becca and griffin would've never volunteered in our recital laugh

But at this point, I'm so sad to miss two of our most important Rostoskians: PPP (polyphasicpianist) and Eglantine frown Where are they???

Aren't you the lucky one with an ironclad reason! That one won't work for me, however since I so shamelessly posted my solo last spring. laugh

BTW, I really enjoyed your post earlier this week!

Hi everybody... wonderful job with the Glass pieces. They're beautiful. I am impressed and intimidated by you all smile

I wish were able to join in on the Satie, but I have a full load this fall. I worked on the first 3 gnoissennes earlier this year, and they were a lot of fun. I especially liked trying to interpret Satie's comments into the songs. I think you all will have a blast with it. Hopefully things around here will settle down enough where I can join in on the Mendelssohn. If nothing else, I should be able to dust off Op. 19 no. 6 and see if I can do a better job with it than when I left it.

Wayne, I saw this and thought of you. I hope Gaga isn't
letting herself go! That or too many brownies grin

My Fiona Apple got arrested yesterday. So this is for her.

unfortunately old rossy will not be involved in this one ..boo hoo, because I have to do some jobs before winter sets in.

BUT will be involved in the mendlessohn with op38.no2 or was it op28 no2? damn anyways, lost happiness it is called in english.

Richard seems shy , its not rocket science richard, someone you know will have a camcorder or iphone or mp3/4 recorder, and apart from gnos7 all of the sheet music is available online mostly, and if not then very cheaply in your local music store.....

RST is begining to suspect what may be known as "shanannigans"??? lol.

ROFLMAO! See previous comment. If you're in Wales you're actually closer to my local music store than I am!

I can confirm your suspicions. smile

I may get involved in the Mendelssohn (is there a free choice of piece?) if I can get the recorder, piano and computer all in the same room in the not too distant. The palaver would not be worth it for Satie. I liken Satie to postal chess. I could do a note each week! smile

Right on Richard!! I'd say you've got your priorities in the proper order! smile

I'm the same way with my other half! The only reason he's cutting me a little more slack on this one is because I've promised to learn a piano piece he wants to hear. That's one of my top priorities wink

Sunday Classical is coming from Ireland for a little while.

A certain indolent wastrel who wouldn't take part in the themed recital (because he couldn't get no Satiesfaction smile ) is marching into the cannon's mouth to clear a little practise time for Griffin who can then participate in the Gymnopédies, by playing piano I hasten to add, although, knowing Griffin, it could probably have gone either way. laugh

Giovanni Legrenzi provides a stately start to Stunday (oops). A product of the early baroque, he is a countryman and contemporary of such luminaries as Corelli and Torelli. Then, as now, he helped to shape the way ahead. This is his Op.2 No, 15, La Torriana. Don't play it too loud - we don't want to disturb the preponderance of participating pianists still practising!

Strauss picks up the pace now with his Thunder and Lightning Polka, an invigorating bash, with Barenboim brandishing the baton.

More to follow...

thumb Thank you Richard for taking on the Sunday classical postings for me to have some much needed practice time for our themed recital in November. I'm really excited to participate.

Have an enjoyable Sunday!
