I'm interested in buying a piano for quite a while now...
After searching, I decided for Kawai CN43.
Today I looked again at Kawai's site and I looked at ES-Series
and came up with ES7, which has some nice features, virtual technician and New Keyboard Action Tech, compared to CN43.
I'd like to hear Pros/cons of these 2 models, in order to come to a final decision.

Thank you all.

Es7 has the RH II keybed. Faster repetition and a bit lighter to play. The rest of the KAWAI series will probably be updated sometime to utilize this same RH II as well (CN45 ?). If keys are the most important to you I would go for the new Keybed. Just my opinion.

The ES7 is superior to the CN43 in every way, apart from:

- no. of sounds]
- speaker power

Kind regards,
James

As a beginner I would like to know why I should prefer the ES7 over a CN43. James said ES7 is superior to CN43. But it uses the same PHI sound technology and I wonder if a beginner would notice the difference between RH and RH II. Or has the RH II keybed other advantages than the 3 sensors?

Montano, while the CN43 and ES7 both share the same core 'PHI' piano samples, the ES7's processing and effects engine is considerably more powerful. This improves the realism of reverb, effects, and virtual technician features, thus contributing to an superior overall sound.

Regarding sensors, RHII's third sensor allows for great repetition and responsiveness. That being said, the 2-sensor RH action is still a very realistic, playable keybed.

Kind regards,
James

RHII Keyboard is said to be much more light-touched!
Is this a disadvantage on the overall feel of realism, compared
to a piano?
So, is maybe RH-I on this issue better that RH-II ??

Yes, that's also my question: Is the touch/feel of RH 11 -apart from the 3rd sensor- really different from RH?

I thought that the RHII action felt noticeably lighter than the RH. I thought they felt alot different

There is a difference, but not a world of difference. Did you notice the new upright DP's from KAWAI that are just announced ?! Makes the cn43 less interesting I suppose....
