I happened upon this ad today and thought this piano was not your typical old stencil grand, especially at $350. Does anyone know what this is from the photo?

I have no financial or other interest here - just curious!

It looks like a late 19th century grand. Not a Steinway(I think), probably a Chickering, guessing from the casework and the music desk.

It's a good thing for my wife I'm nowhere near Kingstown...

Could also be a Knabe.

It struck me as Knabe, too. The short side length, from arms to the curve, would indicate the typical short key length and mechanism of the period Knabes.

Look at the pedals though - looks like an Erard to me? Proceed with caution - lots of scam ads on CL right now.

At a price like this, it makes a beautiful piece of furniture, even if it doesn't play! A beautiful wood table would cost much more than $350!

Beautiful music desk, wonderful carved legs!

Unfortunately, it a nice piece of furniture that has to be moved, and if you're not good at that yourself (my back twinged already) your $350 furniture suddenly goes up in price. And then you have to clean it (and clean it out) and perhaps do other expensive things to it to make it truly usable. The labor could indeed pay off, but one must build all of these other costs (including time) into the price.

It's beautiful!
If I were filthy rich, it'd be mine in a heartbeat, if for no other reason than aesthetics.

In that case, my wife is really happy we don't live anywhere near Kingstown...
