$5 bucks says you're performing "All I ask of you". I hope so since I love that tune.

p.m me for mailing addy to send the $5.00! grin

Maybe it is, and maybe it isn't (he said deviously) - but, just $5? smile

The piano is out of tune and I have a medical procedure coming up next week. I'm not sure how well I'll be feeling afterwards so I don't think I'm going to be coming up with a new recording of anything. I might check to see if I have something already recorded that is decent enough but I may be skipping the recital this time.

I'll figure it out eventually.
Until then you may want to keep a safe distance.

LBE - hope your procedure goes well next week - best wishes!

I had to do my recording early.... so I'm good to go and ready to upload. This will be the 10th consecutive ABF recital for me...I feel pretty happy about that.

I haven't gotten any new music for awhile so I'm running out of stuff to play. cool

I decided to work on a song that I put up in the piano bar about a year ago. smile

My keyboard doesn't have enough keys for it though! So I Guess I'll have to improvise. smile I can't wait to get a full size piano. Hopefully this year sometime^_^

Fortunately I've got one possibility recorded and a couple on reserve (those "go for it" pieces). The downside is a week long vacation really disrupted my flow and progress.

If it were up to me, my vacations would be spent on the piano. grin

It's up to the practice and recording gods if I manage to unseat what I've already prepared - my future is in their hands! crazy (not really - it's in my fragile and unprepared hands)

I'm going on holiday from late July to early September so I was going to pass this time, but I happened to make a nice recording of a Japanese video game song that I recorded when trying out grand pianos in a local piano shop.

I'll have to quickly copy it from my memory card before i head overseas this Thursday so I'll have it ready to upload for the recital.

Oh man, I hope I'll be ready. I lost a bunch of time being out of town.
My mom's 90th birthday is in August and I (hopefully) will be submitting a tune of her choosing. She has been asking me to play something she knows, so I am happy to oblige. At this point it needs some work, but I should be able to get it in shape for the recital. I may need an extra lesson or two!

Wish your mom a very happy birthday from us strangers around the world at PW's ABF forum!

And as far as recital piece choice, you'd better listen to your mother! grin

I'm all out of 'ringer' pieces and now have to actually learn something new! If I submit the Petzold minuet you'll know I was desperate.

Actively working on:
Bach - Two-part Invention No. 14
Chopin - Prelude in E minor - Op. 28, No. 4
Notenbuch für Nannerl - Tempo di menuetto in F (Anonymous)

I will do that, Ben. She'll get a real kick out of the wishes. I hope she'll be as happy with my tune! It was funny, she had said "Why don't you learn this one," and started singing. I told her that I had the lead sheet to it and would learn it for her. So, happiness all around. smile

Just a few days until the recital opens. eek

I am in better shape than I was two weeks ago, but still haven't one blooper-free run-through of my first choice piece yet. I do have a backup in mind, though. I have the house to myself until late Saturday, so I think I'll fire up the Zoom tomorrow and give it my best shot.

I got a decent recording of my "Phantom" piece the other day, but I will continue to try to improve on it until entries close - it is not "All I Ask of You" - guess again, Hunky smile

I think I'm all set :-D Yesterday improved an earlier, already quite acceptable recording. Looking forward for the recital!

I'm almost ready. I did some practice and I think I'm going to do the record tonight, despite thinking that if I had more time, I had chosen another piece to send. This is not one of my favourites.

Yes, we are encouraged to post our pieces by little-known composers at the Unsung Heroes Recital.
I will be posting my ABF Recital piece at the Unsung Recital III, as I did for the Unsung Recitals I and II.

My ABF Recital piece is going to be Sergei Bortkiewicz's Lyrica Nova, Op.59 No.3, and my back-up is Viktor Kosenko's Consolation.

I'm also working on Czerny's exquisite Romance in E, Op.755. This is the loveliest romance ever written, that I know of.

It it usual to double post recitals?

Yes, time for recitals again!!!

By the way, what is the easiest way to find recital threads (the up-coming and old ones) on here in between recitals? Search?
