Curious about a piano. The plate says Charles L Norris, Boston.
What can anyone tell me about this piano maker? Where might I find the date it was made (stamp?) on or in the piano.

thanks in advance!

Did you find a serial number? That can help establish the date.

There isn't much listed about Charles Norris pianos in the Pierce Piano Atlas. It does say "upright #118997 about 1910. A five foot grand serial number 189946 maybe in the 1930s."

Normally, you will find a serial number stamped on the plate near the tuning pins, or imprinted in wood in an area inset in the plate near the tuning pins.
