A super deal! $10.00. Missing some parts but it should be loud enough. No picture.

Not only is it $10, but the regular price is $25.
That really must be some fine instrument!

That type of PSO is the only piano I've ever thrown away, and I've pitched two of them.

WANTED: Property to Burn a Piano On (Multnomah County (surrounding areas))

Well, you're obviously intrigued if you've clicked on this ad... and hopefully you're as excited as my friend and I to burn a piano!

You see, we have this beautiful piano that MUST go. And we thought "What better way than to burn it!?"

We'd also like to do a photoshoot of said "event". Being as we can submit our "documentation" for our final project in an art class.

The only thing crampin' our style is:

WE DON'T HAVE A ("SAFE) PLACE TO BURN IT.

So....

What we are hoping is:

You, or someone you know, has a large property where this project can go down.

We've done this before, trust us. We're just quirky art students looking to make our dreams come true.

Please help.

Thanks a bajillion!

!880's upright! The ivories look like they've never been cleaned and someone with very skinny fingers was playing it. It parallels with the old upright discussion of recent that the old Up's are beyond restoration. Too bad as the cases on this vintage are remarkable. Poor quality pic's.

I'm amazed by the poor picture quality of some craigslist postings.

I think it is funny that this "upright" piano is not quite upright!

I wonder how the piano sounds when gravity takes over!

Well I thought this was funny. Found an ad for another rebuilder using a picture of a Steinway "A" I rebuilt.
The picture shows my Steinway in my shop.

In this one the insides might be remarkable as well. Original Mathushek's are always an interesting study. If I didn't already have a shop full of pianos I'll never get to....

If the listing uses a link to your photo host, you could switch the picture on your host site for a funny little surprise.

thumb thumb thumb

I sent them an email and they said they would remove it.
Am I justified to ask them to do that?

Of course you are!

I'm tired--I had to do a double take on the thumbnail photo. Huh?! You'd think the seller would notice!

I understand Spinets, Consoles, and Studios. Lately there seem to be a lot of GDs. Are gravity defying pianos a new category of verticals?

Believe me, I don't defy gravity and I wonder how you play them?

For a mere $10 you can turn some pianos. http://austin.craigslist.org/msg/3801202195.html

If I had a bigger house and either of those played half decent I would actually be interested in adding to my collection. (see signature)

Ok, Ok, this has nothing to do with pianos. But it made me laugh so hard I had to share. Sorry. Just to keep things semi on topic, I also included the "Big old upright for guns" posting that I also saw today. Enjoy....

Black Grand Piano, Must go!!!

I like how they used a stock photo of a Steinway and scribbled out the brand name.

Those are GREAT! I actually did L.augh O.ut L.oud on these, especially the last one. It is amazing to me that people will post pictures of pianos covered with crap! This looks like an episode of Hoarders!
