Checking on our members from the Colorado area.

The fires out there are very scary, I hope you are all OK.

I wish we could have sent our weather to you, just came off 3 days of heavy rain from a tropical storm.

When you have a chance, please let us know how you are doing.

Read about the fires on CNN

The Flagstaff fire, which exploded yesterday from lighting, is southwest of Boulder. It is about 7 miles from my house but we are in no danger here. The Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs is by far the most dangerous at this time. Many homes went up in smoke last night. Need some rain badly.

Me too Monica.

I visited Colorado Springs a couple of years ago, to hear/see Jeffrey Biegel play with the Colorado Springs Symphony.

Ater the concert we went to Steve Barta's house up in the mountains. Steve is a fantastic jazz pianist. First Jeffrey played (Steve's Steinway), then Steve played, and after my second glass of wine, I played :-)

The area is breath takingly beautiful, and the people are wonderful.

I join in sending best hopes to our Colorado friends. Besides Piano World having members in the area, Colorado Springs is the site of one of the long-time amateur competitions and so a number of us have friends there through that event. The devastation is TERRIBLE. Let's hope it can be brought under control very soon and that all our friends are okay....

My son just took a job in Denver. He and his friend left this morning and plan on driving straight through. Boy, am I glad I begged out. I just hope they can find somewhere to stay. I hear hotel rooms are in short supply.

We have family in Colorado Springs, Cimarron Hills area. I haven't heard if they have evacuated.

I am in Fort Collins - many friends were evacuated, a few lost homes. My wife and I are fine - about 20 miles away from the fires.

Our neighbors to the south (Boulder & Colorado Springs) now seem to be in the most danger.

Thoughts and prayers for them are appreciated.

I am in the high country about 25 miles south of Breckenridge. Although we've had a couple of scares (one small fire that was gotten under control fairly quickly...which is rumored to have been caused by arson), we are pretty far away from the main fires now raging.

Fortunately the Bose is in Texas. I'd hate to have to evacuate it!
