I don't think too many people hate the summer!
But I know some who do -- especially if they don't do well in the heat. (D'oh!)

I love the summer, love the spring, love the fall, don't mind the winter, although January and February I could do without. ha

Depends on where you live, right?

I don't mind any season, but I prefer cold seasons. My creativity works better inside rather than outside in the sea!

Those who can afford to do so simply leave our part of the US during the summer for cooler destinations. Two solid months of daytime temps in excess of 100 to 110 degrees gets a bit tiresome after a while. Even the "but it's a dry heat" argument doesn't hold up well over time. Nevertheless, I adjust - and still manage to get lots of practicing done. Folks here tend to do all their "outside stuff" (yard work, jogging, etc.) prior to 9 a.m. grin

Carey: But it's a dry heat, isn't it? grin

BTW, true story (perhaps only mildly interesting ha but heck, it's true):
The lady and I took our one trip to Arizona (Sedona) one March ('98), figuring we'd get a jump on some nice weather.

The weather in Arizona set records for cold, snow, and ice -- it was below freezing, roads were closed, you couldn't go anywhere. And meanwhile, the New York that we left behind was setting the opposite kind of records: 80's and beautiful.

Sometimes you can't win. smile
But we weren't too bummed out -- we thought it was hilarious.

OGeez. Don't mention summer. Two months of 100-111 degrees last year was unbearable.

I'd have to say that summer is probably BETTER for my practicing as I don't like to suffer outside too much in the blazing sun and humidity, unless its at a water park or swimming pool or some special summer outing.

Winter and spring tend to be much nicer weather, and I find myself outside a lot more then.

Haha, Carey. 9:00am is about right for us too.

It certainly does!! Here, the average summer daytime temperature is 72-75 degrees F, and with summer normally being our dry season, we have endless days of brilliant sunshine under cloudless, smog- and pollution-free skies. The temptation is to spend all of one's time out of doors.

Come visit!

Summer? Yuck!! Living in Arizona where today we're going to have a high of 101, I can't honestly say I enjoy it. Used to think I loved the cold when I was younger but I don't know now. The older I get the more I just want it to be just right. Now anything above 75 is getting a little iffy. So here I am in Arizona.

Well, actually, depending on your viewpoint and location, British Columbia and Washington state snuggle right up against each other so there can be virtually no time to get from one to the other!

I know! wink I've done so. I was in Seattle last year and got into the ferry and visited Victoria to meet a friend. Sadly I wasn't aware that you lived there, and Dara lived there and a bunch of people actually live there! smile

But I can promise you that next time (IF) I end up in Seattle, I'll be sure to visit Victoria as well! smile

Yes c'mon over next time you make it to this part of the world. As Bruce mentions we have a lovely summer climate. And the spring , fall and winter season very nice also. Warmest part of Canada through the winter months here on the southwest Pacific coast of B.C. I particularly like this as I can garden year round - I grow a large portion of my own food and there's always something fresh to eat from the gardens year round.

This photo, which includes my left foot smile , is taken from one of the several little mountains on the island I live on, in a group called the Gulf Islands. Looking out to sea (southeast in this photo) some of the San Juan Islands (in Washington State) are visible. Keep going south and you'll hit Seattle. The city of Victoria is a little out of range in this photo to the right (south). And Vancouver is to the left (north). On another mountain on this island I can look one way and see downtown Vancouver in the distance and turn my head the other way and see Victoria.

I've lived here for over 20 years now and love it ! Also lived in several of the largest cities across the country when I was younger.
The island I'm on has a population of over 10,000 and still lots of large areas of wilderness. This island is well known for its beauty, as a dynamic artistic cultural center and organic farming/gardening community.
We have top musicians from around the world (classical and other genres) that perform here frequently and the island receives a large influx of visitors from just about everywhere during the spring to fall months.
I've never been bored here smile
And it's very easy to walk/drive on to a ferry and travel in to either Victoria or Vancouver. And many other wonderful destinations.
