Hi all

I have a pen with some musical notations on it, and, wondering if it was a real song or just something made up, I manually transposed it into Finale Notepad and played it. It turns out it's a real song, and one that's pretty well known. However, I can't remember who composed this and was hoping someone could identify the name of the song as well as the composer.

Since it seems to be relatively easy to play, I might just put it on my list of things to learn. smile Personally, I think the notation in measure 14 is wrong, but if I find out what the song is, I can look it up and find out.

Much appreciated!

I believe you've got the Menuet in G Major from Bach's Anna Magdalena Notebook (BWV Anh. 114). Because it appeared in the AMN, the piece was originally attributed to Bach himself, but it is now generally conceded that the piece was written by Charles Petzold, a family friend, and copied into the Bach's family album. Along with the companion Menuet in G Minor (BWV Anh. 115), it is often the first "Bach" work for beginning pianists. Check IMSLP for a score.

Easy . . . Bach's (or is it Petzold's) Minuet in G. I agree some of the notation is a bit off.
