I'm starting with Piano lessons just now and this model seems to be more than what I need for now and enough for the next years of study.

However, I see it's a 4 years old unit (or so), so my question is, should I buy it or is a newer unit already out or about to be released that will replace ii? (for the same price range, of course)

Thank you smile Also, hi, this is my first post smile

The PX735 is the updated model, however this instrument is not available in every region. The differences between the PX730 and PX735 are marginal, so if you've found a good price on the PX730, and enjoy the touch and tone, go for it!

Cheers,
James

There is already a PX830 which should be the replacement. It costs a bit more but has some things like ivory touch.

The PX-830 is not the replacement model. The 830 is a different model in a different cabinet with a more powerful amplifier/speaker combination. The keybed has ivory touch keys. I think the piano sample is also different with the 730 having the older sample. I think the 730 comes with the wooden stand and pedal bar. It is a good piano assuming you like the touch and sound.

Thanks for the info. What does "ivory touch keys" stand for? Spanish is my first language and I'm not quite sure what it means wink

The keys have an ivory mat finish instead of the smooth plastic. Helps your fingers grip the keys better.

Of course it's not REAL ivory lol it actually crossed my mind the other day to find an old free piano with ivory keys and transplant them to a DP; might not be the easiest modification to perform, but it would certainly be awesome :P
