Hello! I just bought my first piano, a Yamaha CP-33, and so far I am very happy with it. I do have one concern, though: What is the best way to prevent dust from getting on it? I don't want my piano to slowly become a sick dirty grimy mess. Do they make dust covers for digital pianos? Or should I just put a garbage bag over it when not in use?

Check you closest fabric store and find the material and color of your choice and you'll have a dust cover that can be original and blend in with the colors of its surrounding.

Lost in cyberspace.in the UK.
Buy a duvet cover or a bedsheet, they come in every colour under the sun.
Dont use anything wooly or fluffy, you dont want detritus falling between the keys, cotton is the ticket.

The place you bought the keyboard from should have cheap spandex-type dust covers. You'd have to outsource the nicer pleather type, though.

And down from 40 dollars to just a mere 25 dollars.
Cotton sheet from a charity shop 50 cents.Plus you should get the colour you actually want if you look around.

Kawai James' link is exactly what I have. I like it because the stretchy draw string allows it to hug the keyboard so it doesn't slide off. That said, one has to have a pretty wide wingspan to easily fit it on to an 88-key 16" deep workstation with mod/pitch wheels on the end!

I usually do one end first, then do the other end, then go back and redo the first end because I didn't secure it very well the first time!

There are folks who earn extra income by doing odd jobs like altering and repairing clothing. I would imagine for very little money you could have a custom cover made.

I am 'doremi' because I play scales smile
Had I progressed to playing chords,
I would be 'domisol' shocked
