So I am 31. I have been dreaming of my own grand piano since I began teaching myself to play at age 9. When I was a teen, I used to joke that I would put a grand in my room instead of the bed, I wanted one so badly :-).

Anyway, after months of searching and playing in showrooms and reading here, my new-to-me 1970 Kawai KG-3 is being delivered in 14 hours (give or take)!!!

I don't see myself sleeping much tonight - if at all.

I do want to thank you all for making this forum so fabulous. It has been enlightening and entertaining to read here; and though I knew exactly what I was looking for, I learned so much from reading here. I came here looking for advice during my search, but I know I will continue to come back here just because it is such a great forum.

Well, off to occupy myself until morning comes - or I just drop over, unable to stay awake any longer! :-)

A 1970 KG-3 would have been designated as a 600. If it says KG-3 on the plate, it may be newer.

I looked at a 600 as well... it was 6 months older. Supposedly the 600 (this particular one anyway) was mid to late 1969 and the KG-3 was 1970. It is definitely a KG-3 though...

Thanks! I will definitely try to drag myself away long enough to take and post some pics!! My husband has already said he expects no less than 2 hours of non-repeated music tomorrow night. I just laughed at him; he apparently thinks 2 hours is a long time!

Congratulations ! I know I had this huge Cheshire Cat grin on my face when my piano was delivered; and it was great to be there as it was a school hoilday, so I spent the next few hours playing my favorite pieces.

So what's the best way to post pics??

You need to upload the picture to a picture hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket. Once you do that it should give you a web link you can use on forums such as this. Then when you reply to this thread, click the icon for the picture (3 over from smiley face and 3 over on the left side of the Bold B).

So I have dragged myself away from the baby long enough to create a Flikr account.

[Edit] Well I must be an idiot because it's not converting the link I enter to a picture.

When you get the picture uploaded on to a photo hosting site, right click on it and select “properties”; highlight and copy the URL link of the photo starting with http and ending with jpg. Open the non-floating image icon from the PW post window and paste the link in the drop-down box.

It will appear as http language in the post window, but if you click on “preview post”, the photo will appear in the post (if everything worked as it should).

First resize the picture so it is not too big, I think 640x480 may be the usual size. Then click the above link, and enter the data in the form, browsing to the location of the photo in your computer. Click "Submit Form" and you will be sent an email with a link showing the location of the uploaded photo. Then you use the "enter an image" icon on the Posting Form (4th from the left).

Just be aware that after clicking "Submit Form", you get taken to a strange page that doesn't seem to make sense. However this does not matter because you will have been sent the email, and that's the next thing you have to look at.
