Yesterday and today I finally felt up to sitting down at the keyboard bench and playing a little, for about a half hour each day - this was the first I played since before the most recent Recital and it's still a tad uncomfortable with all the slight aches and pains hanging around after my heart surgery - but I'm getting a little stronger every day and simply playing some easier tunes that I have memorized, trying to get the fingers limbered up somewhat - for those of you who worry about being away from a piano or keyboard during vacation, etc. I say don't worry - it all comes flowing back real fast in 2 or 3 practice sessions - anyway, it's great to be playing again and I can't wait to get back out on the golf course again too (later this Spring I hope) - see you all in the Piano Bars & Recitals real soon!

Trap

P.S. Thanks to all for your well wishes!

I was just thinking about you TJ as we haven't heard anything in a couple of weeks. That must have been a real scary ordeal to have to go through.

I'm very glad to hear that you are on the mend and will get back into the swing of things soon (figuratively ande literally).

A toast (along with an 81mg baby aspirin) to your continued good health. This place would not be the same without you.

So glad to know you are on the mend in a big way and will be perambulating about and playing golf very soon!

Look forward to hearing more from you as your strength grows and grows.

Keep playing!

Trapper, I'm new around here, but from the responses you're getting, it looks like you are well-liked, and I am glad that you are over the heart surgery. Welcome back.

Perambulating. Yup, yup, yup, perambulating's a good thing smile

Glad to hear it's up and down the keyboard, too.

So glad to hear you're recovering well, Trapper. thumb It's easy to overdo things. Try to convince yourself that this is your time to catch up on all those movies and books you haven't gotten to yet. Not to mention naps. smile

Glad to hear you are back Trap. Just think of all the songs with "heart" in the title or lyrics that you can play now with double meanings.

Thanks SH - the aspirin and 8 other pills - it's quite a chemical cocktail - not sure if the cure isn't worse than the disease...

Thanks Monica - Naps are no problem - I was doing pretty well with those before surgery smile And as far as catching up my one daughter brought over her DVDs of seasons 1 & 2 of "Downton Abby" for me to watch - maybe the best written/acted/produced drama I've seen in a long, long time thumb - anyone else like this?

Yes - someone asked me before if I had picked my Recital piece: "My Foolish Heart" after I had learned that I needed heart surgery - I wish I could claim that I was that clever, but no chance - it was mere coincidence - but still a foretelling (and strangely amusing) one.

Glad your on the road to full recovery TJ.
I had to nip over to PC to have an argument whilst you was away.
It wasnt a good argument either, just a 24 hr argument!!
I am glad you are back, and would like to take this opportunity to let you pick the subject for the next differnce of opinion!!!

Now thats gotta be an incentive to get fully fighting fit real quick!! lol.

Take it slowly dude, little by little, and dont overdo things, or take on too much too soon..

No running marathons of chasing dancing girls just yet!

Best wishes for a speedy rehab!
If you've had heart surgery, then, I'm surmising the circulation should be improved--> better for the mind and piano playing! smile

Going through surgery like that does give you a different perspective in life, eh?
