I am a big fan of Schubert but for some reason I hadn't heard this piece until yesterday, and now I just can't get it out of my head and every time I hear this piece I just don't know where to go or what to do with myself when I hear it because it's so great. What do you guys think about it?

I love this movement, always makes me think of the holidays.

If you're going to convince someone who doesn't like Schubert, though, the String Quintet is where it's at.

Just don't like the composer.
Edvard Grieg & Robert Schumann is defintly my melodies in Romantic.
But my favorite Era is back in the Barouqe.

I love the quintet in C, and I was in a trance listening to it when it came to an abrupt end near the end. I know I can't sleep tonight until I hear the end. I have several recordings, so I'm off to go listen to it again, probably several times.

It is a gorgeous, heavenly and profound piece of music.

I've been playing the D850 sonata myself lately - I absolutely love it, and for some reason I hadn't heard that Richter recording before, so many thanks for that, Franz! smile
