I still cannot decide between these two, can anyone help? I'd love to hear pros and cons from anyone who has either of these. I haven't been able to try either yet as I can't find a store within a reasonable distance that has either in stock, but hope to be able to before I buy. It's doubtful that I will be able to find them together in the same store though for a direct comparison so any info fro owners would be really helpful to me, thanks in advance!

Honestly, you have to get out there and play!

When I started out, I was going to buy a Yamaha!

I tried them all. I did not like the Roland... sound.. nor touch.

We all have different opinions. In the end, the only one that counts, is yours.

I know, it's hard though when the music shops in my area only stock Yamaha! I've tried the CLP 430 which I thought was 'o.k' but didn't really blow me away, so did a bit of research to see what else was in that price bracket and came up with the kawai & Roland. What piano do you have?

Where are you located, Abby? If you are in the DMV area, Jordan Kitts stocks Roland DPs and The Piano Company stocks Kawai MPs. If you are anywhere near Rockville,Maryland Jordan Kitts and The Piano Company are within arms reach!

I auditioned a HP305 and a Kawai CN33. I chose the Kawai.

Some reasons for the Kawai: better cabinet construction, quieter key action, ivory feel keys, better speakers or sound production - I thought; against the Roland: quite audible background hum through the 305 speakers.

Personal choice. You've got to try them yourself.

I have the CN43 in Rosewood. Feature-wise is blew Yamaha out of the water... and price-wise....the most bang for my buck.

Most importantly, I loved playing it.... and hearing myself play.

Brokenchord I'm in U.K so bit far for me to travel hehe! I have discounted the Roland i think as have read too many reports of clunky keys and background hums, plus the 305 is discontinued and the shop I thought had it at a good price hasn't actually got it anymore! BUT I am now wondering whether to go for the ca63 or cn43..I have found somewhere which isn't too far away that has a ca63 in stock, not the cn43 though unfortunately. It looks like if I go for the cn43 i will have to buy online without trying as no-one withing reasonable travelling distance has it on stock.

The CA63 is wonderful. Great touch, sound and appearance.

I have never seen or played the CN43, but chose the CA63 over all Roland and Yamaha options. Only the Roland HP307 was worth considering, and it was way more expensive; at that price range, the CA93 beats the HP307 hands down. You may find the sound sampling better in the 305/307, but I personally much preferred the quiet and superior keyboard action of the CA63 over both Rolands. Again with the resounding forum mantra, depends on your personal preferences, try to get your hands on one. Also don't forget to bring your favorite headphones, good luck!

Between the drums, guitars, and my CA63, I am in desperate need of more hands!
