I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I tried using my Kindle Fire for playing from sheet music PDF's. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. I was able to play the pieces, and turn pages in 2 ways. The Kindle view (pages turn side to side) and the Adobe view (they scroll up and down).

It can never replace sheet music that you can write fingerings and reminders on, but it might be something for others to try if you have a Kindle Fire. I use Dropbox to easily get PDF's from my computer to my Fire.

I'm using Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet for the same purposes, although I'm beginner so I just do have Alfred's Adult all-in-one book 1 there and it's really nice.

If you are interested in adding some notes into PDF sheets, may I recommend you ezPDF Reader? This is what I'm using on Thinkpad and it's absolutely fantastic especially with Thinkpad's pen. Although you don't have hardware pen I still think it might be useful for you to make finger annotations at least...
