I was notified by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), the music industry'e trade organization, that I am going to be honored at their annual NAMM Show breakfast in January for our acheiving 75 years in business.

No. I'm not THAT old. My grandfather went into the business way befor I cam along. I've only been at it officially for about 45 years.

Congratulations, Steve!

That is an honor indeed!

I still find it odd that you don't actually play the piano after selling pianos all those years... not that playing a piano is a prerequisite for selling pianos. smile

I spent my youth rebuilding pianos, then my father began to train me to wear the yoke!!

Would you rather buy a race car from the driver or his mechanic???

Congratulations to you and Jasons!

Do you have 'old' pics of the store to share?

It's a snappy report.....maybe. But considering the driver and the mechanic are both private parties, I'd want a thorough technical inspection by at least one top-flite independent racing mechanic before even considering who was selling it.

Factoring in the life-threatening implications of competitive racing, I'd probably rule out the purchase of used equipment just based on common sense. Better to do business with an authorized dealer with good warranty service. smile

As to Steve's 'honor', is Steinway presenting an 'Award"? grin
