Wow that is so odd, it does strange things to my ears, its like the bass is in a totally different key, I cant figure it, I listened a few times, but that bass just sounds wrong. And my brain keeps pushing the bass to places it doesnt go to... very curious... would love the sound files to see whats happening and why. Its mainly when she is singing...

Hello everyone! It's Saturday, and I am so glad to be done with the hectic work week. Today I am enjoying a more laid back day, practicing the piano, and of course planning a few posts to share.

Tonight I will be attending a concert in tribute to Nina Simone. I think she wrote and performed some of the most profound social protest songs of the civil rights movement.

My final post is Nina Simone's "Mississippi Goddam." It was her first civil rights song. It was inspired by the murder of four girls in the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church on September 15, 1963 by members of the Ku Klux Klan.
