My piano, which was supposed to arrive late this afternoon, will not be arriving until tomorrow morning. frown

Welcome to the Bösendorfer family, Anne! We're like Harley owners, we wave at each other when we pass.

I hope your top's not on crooked like mine was.

We had a "piano warming" party for our month-old piano last Sunday. Had two local pianists over performing everything from the Beatles to Liszt, (and me mangling the Chopin Etudes) and about 25 people crammed into our smallish house. It really worked out well.

When I traded in my GranTouch for a new AvantGrand last year the understanding was they were to remove the GranTouch at the same time they delivered my new piano.

Their truck was filled to the top with pianos and since I was their first delivery they told they would have to come back in a few days for the pick up.

The thing is I hadn't told my wife about the new purchase and was wondering how long it would take for her to notice there was a slightly different piano in the living room. Instead when she came home that day there were two grands in the living room. That gave it away.

She stood there with her mouth open and was truly surprised. She trusts my judgment with money and had no problem with the purchase at all.

Update: the piano arrived this morning! I don't want to knock my Kawai, which I truly enjoyed, but this baby plays so-o-o-o much better, e.g., when I try to repeat a note quickly, it does it. The Kawai didn't do it so well, and I had always assumed it was just my lack of dexterity.

And this before the post-move tuning!

I've already taken a few photos but will have to wait until hubby comes home to transfer them from camera to computer.

Congratulations again, Anne!

The Kawai action probably needs a good lube, service and regulation, but that is water under the bridge! You are in new and deeper waters now!

Congrats! The piano you just brought home is my dream piano!

I am very happy for you! Hope you have many, many long days and years of enjoyment with that wonderful piano.

(I'll be playing one like it in my dreams!) wink Teri

Aren't you glad it's in your home now? grin

I mean, seriously, you got yourself one seriously great piano! Congratulations!

BTW, give that Kawai action of yours a good regulation and lubrication with a good tech, and it might just sound that much better! wink But of course, yes, you have more to explore than that now! smile

I know what it's like to wait a couple of weeks. Five months is just unbelievable. Hope it gets there soon.

A bit OT but Anne, your post was timed 11/11/11, 11:11 (as I see it). grin

5 months? That's bad, worrigee, I do feel for you. Did you follow up with the people involved in the move?
