I just submitted my piece but the composer didn't get added to my entry. So I resubmitted it adding the composer and still kept my #17 place!!

You don't need to resubmit to change the composer, according to Monika?? See her post above

Think I may end up at the end this month. Still trying to piece the piece together with some kind of connected tempo.

We have four original pieces in a total of 18 submited! That's great. I'm always curious to listen the original pieces of these recitals.

Plus an "original" cover. Don't forget that. Nothing like making up your own category eh?

Sorry mr_s-h, you have absolutely right! I apologize but I was just reading the names of composers between the brackets and I did not notice that you have an "original cover".
Now we have 20 submissions and 5 originals. Great!

An "Original cover" is a genuine imitation that sounds almost exactly as the original even though absolutely nothing is the same.

How's that?

It's better not to make it a sticky, Wouter. The problem with sticky threads is that they don't move on the forum page so people tend to forget they're there.

I always keep an eye on the thread, anyway, and make sure to bump it before it falls off the first page. Like now. whome

Well, I for one certainly appreciate that you keep an eye on it Monica, but I agree with Wouter that it would be better as a sticky. I think you're right that the posts which are ALWAYS stickied tend to blend in and be ignored, but I am not convinced that is the case with our recital threads.

You already do enough, you shouldn't have to watch where it is on the page.

Just my 2cents.

No, No! No stickies! laugh I already have enough pressure to get it done without it being the top post every time I open the ABF laugh

Besides, I really like limiting the stickies so that I don't have to scroll thru a bunch (see a couple of other forums here) to get to the current discussions. I'm afraid it would be a can of worms, to use super-hunky's term.

JMO of course.

Well, I had a real clunker of a wrong note in my recording, which I couldn't ignore, like a zit in the middle of a pretty girl's forehead - I just couldn't look away.

So I recorded a new one - now I have dropped down into the 20s somewhere.

Already 4 or 5 jazz pieces in this recital. Including some pretty tough ones! (Clifford and Evidence!)
Pretty cool. Beats the local music school's recital!

I agree. Plus... I don't know why but I just have this sneaky suspicion that everyone that needs to know about the recital already knows and they most likely will not let this thread fall very far before the recital goes live.

I want more Chopin! Anyone else here planning to submit some?

On another note, I got my Zoom H4n and I'm definitely resubmitting since it sounds far superior to what I've already submitted. (What's that you say? DYNAMICS? WOAH!)

Playing since age 21 (September 2010) and loving it more every day.
