There are those in this world who believe that nothing is beyond science. Music is...always has been...always will be.
The answer is the answer but it may not be interesting. Poor musicians are epidemic. Science has given us a tomato that doesn't bruise even when dropped from a great height, can complete enlightenment be far behind?  Music is, but hasn't always been and only maybe will always be. I'm sorry, but the answer is NOT the answer, because one answer only leads to more questions, thus it's a tail chase with never ending questions and no definitive answer. Music is, always has been and always will be, because there are still some things in this world that refuse to be and cannot be pinned down.

With the amount of abundant ignorance running rampant around here recently it's difficult to tell at times. What's amazing is that a few people seem to crawl out of the woodwork with every single post I make, yet have little to say elsewhere. Unreal.

I love Lisitsa and I think her musicality is, in general, fabulous. She is probably one of my favorite pianists living and I'd place her in the top twenty or so I've personally heard. Can't account for the taste of others, though

Wait, why is music being pitted against science on a thread about Lisitsa? Not to stir the pot even further, but I wonder how much understanding you have of what scientists do anyway, stores (is the daughter of a scientist).

Wait, why is music being pitted against science on a thread about Lisitsa? Not to stir the pot even further, but I wonder how much understanding you have of what scientists do anyway, stores (is the daughter of a scientist). Wait, I thought stores was a guy, not a scientist's daughter. Or else maybe a Pogorelich sock-puppet (does anyone here other than P. claim to know who he/she/it really is (i.e., has actually met this person in the flesh)?).

Someone commented on my signature and voila... I don't CARE what scientists do. If you, or anyone else wants to believe that science can explain music or anything else go right ahead if it makes you feel better.

Wow! I didn't know that AI was far enough along to generate realistic looking videos of "people" playing piano on YouTube. Everyday, it gets harder to know what's real and what's not.
