But seriously... Funny story (okay, maybe not "but seriously"): Yesterday, I was wearing one red sock and one green sock. A friend came up to me and pointed that out. I said to her, "Yes, and I have another pair just like this one!"

Anyway, Stores may have been onto something. I was actually once heard to say that matching socks after doing the laundry was the most painful experience I had ever had.

BTW, did I ever tell ya, one night I shot an elephant in my pajamas.....

I once noticed I had a black and a blue sock on. However, the blue sock was dark blue and almost looked black...

That IS a true story!!! Well, minus the "yesterday" part, but I HAVE done that multiple times, just to make that joke.

I also felt what Bruce said about the sudden acceleration at m. 20 but I don't feel the same way on what he said about those dotted rhythms. If anything, I'd say sort of the opposite: if there's a problem, it's not with any dotted notes being 'over-dotted,' but that many of the others are "under-dotted"! But even so, there's no doubt that Bruce has a point in that you do the dottings differently and inconsistently. I mean, I personally liked that variety (!) but I don't think most people would, and you'd probably get killed for it in an audition or competition. I think it's OK for there to be some variety in how you do the dottings, but you can't be so 'all over the place' with them. I think a good rule of thumb with such dottings is to make sure that you never, never 'under'-dot; but you may over-dot a bit, and occasionally even double-dot. Many would disagree with the latter things, and many would say you have to be absolutely consistent about the dotting, but I don't think very many would say it's OK to under-dot.

I took a look at that page, and just for the record I ought to mention that the page is flimsy on what were the criticisms of the book. They were much more than what it says there, including that some things in it are just false.

I also think people sometimes go overboard when telling people to choose for themselves. It's very easy to ask for suggestions online, and it can become very enjoyable if you have no one else to ask!
