I'm not familiar with the whole lot of them, but I sure like op. 42 a lot!

^^ My pick for "greatest" ^^

Edit: ChopinAddict noticed that my post count is "5 ones" and it looks eerie. She's right! And she's even more right than she knew -- check out the date I joined here!! grin

I'm doing this as an edit of this earlier post rather than a new post, because otherwise I'd mess up the post count. ha

I really like op 64 no 2 in c-sharp minor a lot. (Although I could be biased because a cute guy I know plays it blush)

Also, op 70 no 2 in f minor has been a favorite waltz of mine for a while.

I really don't know what would be the "greatest" I only know what I like smile

They are all great... smile
Right now I am thinking of Op.64 No.2 and of Op.69 No.1, but I could change my mind tomorrow.

At any rate in general I prefer the more melancholic ones...

PS: You've got 5 1s in your posts, Mark. They look eerie. smile

I know somebody here who might be willing to pay the owner of this website to allow you permanent access to this post so that you can edit this post without having to post again.. so that he can beat you when it comes to post count. wink

I can't pick a "greatest" waltz, but my favorite has always been the G flat (op. 70 no. 1. Three runners up: the Grande Valse Brillante (Op. 18), the A minor Valse Brillante (Op. 34 no.2) and the C sharp minor (Op. 64 no.2).

Is that because you play it? laugh I like it too (and I kinda play it too but not nearly as well as I'd like to.. I think its a deceptive little piece and I don't find it easy to play well).

Agree with Manuel, Op 70/1

Reminds me of a music box.
