Benjamin Britten's early work for piano and strings from 1939. Incredibly kinetic, very much in A major, Britten's 'Adonis' key. We see that same key similarly used in 'Death in Venice'.

Fantastic piece. Very English, but it's hard for me to say just how. Thanks for posting it.War Requiem , which I really liked, but which I've somewhat forgotten). Time to listen to some more.
