I'm still very much a beginner at playing piano but I'm trying to interpret the rhodes chords he begins playing at 2:20 (and then repeats the entire video)

I'm not good with chord names plus I'm kinda just guessing on the key so I'll just put the actual notes I've been playing:

1 - D, F, A, C
2 - D, F, A
3 - D, B, D
4 - D, G, B

It sounds kinda close but not quite right. I'm probably way off but I'd like to see how close I actually got if someone can fill me in on the actual notes being played. It's so soothing lol!

[posted this in the wrong section earlier so if someone can delete the other one that'd be great (http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/1713425.html#Post1713425)]

I posted this in the classical section first, but I might as well post it here too.

I hear them as just root position chords (lowest tone is always the root note of each chord. I think you are not tuning into the bass notes properly, that's why you are having trouble. I've put bass note in bold, and highest sounding tone (melody) after the chord. Play it with just the melody and bass tone first and you will hear the most important features of the changes. The middle notes are there to fill things out.

1. Dm7 (D,F,A,C) Melody Note:D
2. F (F,A,C) Melody: A
3. Am (A,C,E) Melody: C
4. G (G,B,E) Melody: B

Hope that helps.

Looks like the video is no longer available so we can't watch it. However the chords you wrote are 1. Dm7 2. Dm 3. partial chord but probably G, 4. G.
