It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
One of the things i like bestest about music in general, is that you can happen on it at anytime, in any country, and even without being able to understand the language of that country say, you can still understand the music...
Watched the Creation Records movie Upside Down: The Creation Story last night on BBC4. Some of my favourite bands were on Creation
I can highly recommend Going Blank Again (Ride) and Souvlaki Space Station (Slowdive). Brilliant albums with not a dud track on them.
Loved everything you posted Eglantine. It's helping lift my spirits! Thanks!
Hey, it's surprisingly spiritual music...
I always thought the -few - words on OX4 nicely summed up the sensation of having been at someone's party for far too long, with too much to drink etc...
Never been so far away I don't think I want to stay in this room Anymore
If I crawl across the floor Then I'd be closer to that door It's too far
Never been so far away Just lost the last thought in my head What happens now?
Some fantasy you've been Pick up the pieces in my mind I'm going home
Currently working on: F. Couperin - Preludes & Sweelinck - Fantasia Chromatica J.S. Bach, Einaudi, Purcell, Froberger, Croft, Blow, Frescobaldi, Glass, Couperin 1930s upright (piano) & single manual William Foster (harpsichord)
I watched that program too Eglantine, it was excellent, good posts... Griffin, its amazing how many folk have been inspired by gospel over the ages, and how many musicians have their roots in it. I think wayne is up to something, or he is lurking.
Rise like lions after slumber,in unvanquishable number. Shake your chains to earth like dew which in sleep has fallen on you. Ye are many, they are few. Shelley

Ah yes! Some parts of my college days memories that I'd rather forget. Actually, I really was feeling a connection to the rhythm, more than the words. I hadn't even felt like listening to some of my favorite R&B for the last few weeks. When I woke up this morning I saw your post I wasn't sure I was up for some rock. As soon as I started listening, I knew that spirit stuff was coming back big time!
Add the Soweto choral group, and a dose of Rossy's wicked humor and you've got some potent medicine! At least I'm more patient with recovery time now. Thanks!

Hey Rossy! Good Saturday to you and everyone. Glad you liked the gospel. I am making good use of my recuperation time by doing music research. I have some real treats in store for my Classical Sunday postings!
Hopefully we'll hear from Wayne soon! I'll be around. Hmmm. I suppose you could call that a "sick" joke!
Good afternoon Griffin!! Ah, I just spotted on our television guide there is a program on at six called, (wait for it) "gagaween" I absolutely jest not.
It is on channell 21 (VIVA) freeview at six , and is showing , well you probably guessed, loads of lady G's things that are meant to be good for halloween... It actually says "should satisfy all the little monsters"
I am not saying Wayne is a litle monster or anything, but he may be watching nevertheless.
Or at least he will know about it, is my best guess. lol.

Oh, boy. I've just made a mistake. I'd forgotten that when you buy a complete opera (The Magic Flute in this case) you get all those spoken word bits. How infuriating. I just wanted the music bits. Maybe I'm just one of those highlights people.
Oh well, currently enjoying Pergolesi's Stabat Mater from the Brilliant Classics giganto-Baroque box. And some winter fare (sweet cure dill herring, baked salmon and leeks) before settling down to some serious spooks on Radio 4 Extra.

Eglantine, I am on my way over for dinner, so make sure you save some, also I would like a large teapopt of tea with some biscuits for after, and please dont moan about how much sugar I have in my tea, just make sure you have plenty in reserve.
One thing you could do, is put the dvds in your laptop, import them into windows movie maker, and remove all the unwanted talking, leaving you with just the music.. quite easy editing. then re-burn the result onto a new dvd if required.
I would like some sort of cake as well.( not cheap sponge cake, but something allong the lines of a decent fruit cake)
Also, if i have to clear my own space to sit, then i will require wine, a merlot probably.

Well if I have to bring my own tea bags to make a decent brew, all I can say, is, I hope the entertainment is good!!
Wayne is definately up to something, he has missed a big opportunity to mention lady G. Unusual.
maybe he is out on his bike, after dark with no lights on, very dangerous.
Anyways, Pink floyd, and "bike" off the relics albumn.
Ive got mouse and he lives in the house,
