That vid you posted Becca got me thinking about Baz Luhrmann's direction on the movie Romeo and Juliet, which, for some reason (overdone symbolism perhaps?), got me thinking about the movie Tommy, which got me thinking about Ann Margret, which got me thinking about this:

That's the power of Elvis, he didn't even have to tell the band what to play, he's just that damn good.

Really brilliant Eglantine, I loved those posts, and will check out more, I personally feel that electronica has still got a lot to offer and many new sounds and concepts to thrill us with, I dont believe it has been fully explored just yet!!

BeccaBb, I love number one crush by garbage, and I love shirley manson, who is just as good an actress playing catherine weaver in the sarah conner chronicles as she is lead singer of garbage.

I would definately let her have sex with me , and more than just the once as well.

Nice Summary Rossy, but I am not so certain about wax cylinder recordings.

classic! and this "was" a one of a kind wax cylinder... ooops!

I had been watching the "other" arguament progress, on a number of other threads, untill it got so nasty and personal, the mods stepped on it...
Which seemed to take ages and folk got away with a lot of bad behaviour to each other.
Then another thread developed, which also got stopped as you saw.

Then I followed the links from the first thread, and the guy had got banned from another site entirely for doing , well basically the same stunt.

Now it is started up again in the Digital pianos forum, i guess its just a matter of time.

I can't believe I missed both.. I don't know, something about the wars in Pianist Corner make me feel like I'm getting a present from the universe. I can feel my face light up and crave popcorn.

Maybe I should go read now so I can stop craving King Cake. Many things about Mardi Gras irritate me. King Cake, however, does not and I wish it would.

Oh well. Here's some Mr. T Experience.

Breaking news, a ferry has just gone down off the coast of papua new guinea, 330+souls onboard and so far only 28 rescued, for some reason the distress was answered by Australia rather than papua new guinea, which means a lot of time in getting there was wasted.

This is much different than the concordia, the loss of life may be far worse, and also it is very different from the hollywood film the "Titanic"

just in case anyone was wondering, but I bet they weren't, not after last time and everything, what with leonardo de craprio not actually being there, or kate winslett singing and dancing, etc.

Rostosky: bringing the stories here so you dont have to go looking for them!!!!

Today I found a classic example of "ANTIQUEING" antiqueing is the term used to cover someone in flour, giving them an antiquated appearence.

I believe the term was invented by the Jackass crew, and was certainly used by Johnny Knoxville and on him.

They prefered to "antique" folk who had fallen asleep, or who were drunk...

This lady antiqued the top presidential candidate in France, because she was being targetted by the authorities...

Anyways, the photos speak for themselves, a fantastic example of antiqueing, probably the best I have ever seen, so i had to share..

enjoy...

Eglantine , I believe a "small" and "uncontrolled" warfare did indeed start in the Pianists corner twice, but was nearly " nipped in the bud" by the mods, it may break out again in the digital forums, or may remain calmer.

To celebrate groundhog day, I dare Eglantine to put all her cds in cardboard boxes, and then reshelf them.

Lol. There is probably more chance of Wayne renouncing Lady ga ga than that happening again I bet!

He he, you are so right, Rossy. I still have 2 boxes left, but I'm waiting until I've finished the painting and re-positioned the Benno racks from good ol' Ikea.

Meantime, as I prep and paint behind the radiator and painting the ceiling, I'm listening to another blast from the past (stupidly priced CDs now redux!), the Bark Psychosis album Hex:

Good morning everyone. I'm just dropping by. I'm working on my Desert Island stuff. Answering Rossy's questions is the easiest part. The 8 music choices is definitely a challenge! It's fun, however. Back to it before I head to work. I'll check in later.

Good morning everyone.

Eglantine: the Bark Psychosis is lovely. I've never heard them before.

All the threads shut down were by a guybacos. It was a very nasty mess. Glad I'm an ABF'er let me tell you!

Done Griffin.
Well, ( I thought to myself) Well, I wonder what tonight will bring in the big world? Will the news on the media be excellent and positive? Will there be stories of Hope, and endurance against adversity?
Will the newsreader revel in the sheer joy and happiness of the stories?

I put this to Mrs R when I woke up, and she said "Don't be a tit all your life Rossy"

So, I chose to watch south park instead, a wise choice under the circumstances.

Well done Piano Joy, now that you have achieved "piccy status" there should be no stopping you!!
You will not believe how many times folk have explained how to post pics and how to post videos, just over the course of this thread!!! We love it, because we know the sheer joy it brings when you first achieve it, it's like a present, it went right, it worked ,WOW, I did it!!!
And we enjoy that as well as the pic or video!!

well I posted this just about everywhere I could think to post it.

This fair upset old rossy,

Sometimes, just sometimes, something moves me big time.
This is one of those times,
This dude has just played mendelssohn, on his laptop keyboard..
Literally.

with programs like abelton, you can "play" the actual keyboard of your laptop as a midi controller if you dont have a keyboard.

However, this is not the easyest thing in the world to do, and most folk just use it to write a few midi notes or chords..

This takes it to a whole new level, and moves me that anyone can defeat the adversity of not having even a cheap casio with piano keys to play....

Someone give this dude your old unused keyboard....

Okay I watched this movie the other night and am completely in love with the music, which I can't find anywhere. Its by Tim Delaughter. Okay I know this is a movie trailer but just listen to the piano behind it! smile This is adult only viewing trailer, btw.

I think this is a nice juxtaposition to the Mendelssohn vid.

Why can't people just enjoy music instead of getting so caught up in what kind of music it is, or how its made, or whatever other nonsense they think up to make sweeping rejections of certain types of music.
