Make: Yamaha
Model: YDP323
Condition: New (Floor Model)
Price Paid: $600 (Guitar Center Deal of the Day)
List Price: $1299
Delivery: Picked it up
Bench: Free ($80 non-Yamaha generic bench w/ compartment)
Purchased: Jan '08
Location: Guitar Center, Fountain Valley, CA

Floor model ... probably sat in Guitar Center for years. Hopefully, it'll last a while. Seems in great condition. Was dirty, but otherwise in working order. No box, manual, song book, or headphone hanger, but at over 1/2 off the going rate for most places, I'll live. They threw in a generic but very nice $80 brand new piano bench too.

Looks like Guitar Center is selling all their YDP323 floor models. Going rate was $799, but one sales rep offered it for $740 a month ago. I finally decided to take him up on the offer and when I went in, there was the YDP323 by the front door as the "Deal of the Day". When he told me it was $600, I had a hard time being cool. The thing is in near mint condition ... I just hope it holds up for several years (sounds and feels fantastic!)

On thomann, 10 days ago there was the cheery model with the price 555 euros, now it's no more available, it's only lasting the "rosewood model" -black-(at 645 euros).
I don't know why these 2 similar models (except the color)had such a different prices...
I choosed the cherry one (even if i prefered the black one).

PS : if you have a look at musicstore (on the web) you can see the same difference.

PS 2 : and the story doesnt end here, because i received 3 days ago the cl-25 C(herry model) and there was a broken key !!!
UPS carried it back to Thomann (free), and as they don't have any more CL-25 (Cherry), i discussed (very hard) with them, and they finally decided to send me (for replacement) the CL-25 R(osewood) one....
Funny isnt it...in very bad english...sorry!

I wait for the new one with 88 not-broken keys !!!

Very hard discussed? Is Thomann a bad company? Do'nt they have REAL service? wink
Succes,

I don't think it's a bad company. They have a real hot line but i had to discuss in order to get the piano i initially wanted. As they didnt have it in stock anymore (for the initial price 555 euros), they wanted to give me my money back,so i discussed, and they decided to send me for the same price a piano 90 euros more expensive.

Now i have to wait till i got this keyboard under my fingers in order to tell you if REALLY Thomann is a good company.

Boring isnt'it ?

March 27 edit added: thought rhythms 10 and 14-20 didn't work and service would be required. Turns out these are activated using tone button. Look for small sheet handout. No service needed.
