I was given a price of $5399 for a brand new K-3 by a dealer in the area. (Long Island,NY). This excludes tax and delivery. Is this a fair price or can I do better?

That's a good price. If you like it, go for it, it's a nice piano.

It's a very fair price, especially considering it's a high-dollar area. (I guess you don't live in Seattle.) It's also a very nice piano.

Many folks get free delivery and a free tuning or two thrown in. How far do you live from the store? And how much do they want for delivery? Even if you have to pay for delivery, it's still a fair deal. And a good choice.

Thanks Tom. I had narrowed down my choice to the K-3 and a Weber WSE48 upright, which is $1000 less than the K-3. I think I like the feel and the tone of the K-e a little better than the Weber. The pricing on the K-3 is a little over my budget, so I'm not sure what I will do. But thank you for letting me know, that its a good price for the K-3.

I live about 5 miles from the store. They are charging $200 for delivery, which I think is alot, but I've never purchased a piano before. Is this the average price for delivery from a piano store?

See if you can integrate delivery into the price. That would make it a REALLY good deal. If not, it's still a good deal.

Negotiate for deliver and taxes. You should at least get free delivery, IMO.
