Hello

I am returning to my piano studies and am redoing some of my grade 6 work. I practice every day and see a tutor about 2-3 times a month. Neither of us know what the RCM technical requirements for Grade 6 are, so I thought I'd ask this lovely little community.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

All technical requirements are set out grade by grade in the RCM syllabus. For grade 6 scales they are as follows:
parallel motion: G E F Ab Db major
G E F G# C# minor (harmonic and melodic)
HT 2 octaves tempo 60 (16ths)
Stacatto: E F major
E minor (har and mel) HT 2 octaves@ 60
Formula Pattern: E F major
E minor (harmonic) HT 2 octaves @ 60
Chromatic: beginning on E Db HT 2 octaves @ 60

All requirements for chords and arpeggios are also in the syllabus which is published by Frederick Harris Music.

You might wish to ask your teacher to order the RCM syllabus. It is a printed book that has all of the requirements for each level.
