Hello Herman, welcome to the forum!

Here's a very quick summary of the three instruments:

- CN33: RH keyboard action with let-off, PHI sound, LED display and a good selection of features. The best 'all round' instrument of the three.
- CA13: RM3 Grand keyboard action (without let-off), PHI sound, no display, limited selection of additional sounds and features, but the best keyboard action of the three.
- CS3: RH keyboard action with let-off, PHI sound, no display, relatively limited selection of additional sound and features, but an ebony polish cabinet makes it the most visually appealing of the three.

If you are primarily interesting in the quality of the keyboard action, I would recommend the CA13. If you are keen to use a selection of different sounds, features, and save recordings to USB memory, I would recommend the CN33. If the appearance if the instrument is the most important factor, I would opt for the CS3.

Kind regards,
James

Hi,
After the quick response from Kawai James, i chose the black satin cn 33. The piano was delivered at home by piano's Maene Belgium fully assembled.
Especially the mellow grand 1 with stage effects sounds exceptional.
Thanks for the help of the forum.

Greetings
Herman

Hi James.

What is the meaning of "let-off" on Kawai pianos?

Thanks.

Recaredo, on an acoustic piano, 'let-off' is referred to as 'the point when the hammer disengages from the jack and flies freely'. When playing an acoustic piano very softly (ppp) it is possible to feel a gentle resistance approximately half-way down the key stroke, which eventually gives way, allowing the key to be fully depressed.

Kawai DPs with 'let-off' simulation recreate this subtle characteristic.

Roland instruments refer to this sensation as 'escapement'.

Kind regards,
James
