Hi! I currently have the Nord Piano. I absolutely love it. The only downside is that it doesn't have any organs, synths and pads. I sometimes need those too, quite rarely though. That's why I'm looking for a CHEAP (about 100$ - 400$) second keyboard for mainly organ sounds. I was thinking of a secondhand Yamaha MM6. What's your opinion on that specific board? Any other suggestions are also welcome! smile

Yeah I was in the same boat, but got my hands on a B stock Nord Electro 3 61 for $1440 with the full warranty. I've got a mean red set up now! smile You may want to see if you can find a second hand instrument.

Hi fanord,

How about getting a controller and using a computer ?, you can get tons of plugins, etc...

On the other hand, yamaha is a great brand, I don't think you will be disapointed with any of their products.

MM6 is a good sounding board with some Motif like sounds. It has 32 note polyphony. The organs are OK on it and there are controls to tweak the sounds. I don't think you can save any custom sounds on it though only splits, layers, and internal voice set ups. Casio recently released the WK-7500 which has 9 drawbar sliders right on the front panel with a button for a Leslie simulator. The drawbars can be used on the fly. According to Casio the organ patches are modeled on a B3. This board also has considerable other features where editing sounds, tracks, measures or recording (17 track sequencer)are concerned. It retails for $499.

Hi Jose! Currently I've been doing just that. I think I'd just prefer two boards - the second one with light action. I wanna save myself the hassle of messing around with a computer. Plus I've also got bad experiences: during one gig my laptop (Mac) wouldn't co-operate with me and I couldn't use the organ sounds.

Zachary: Your setup is awesome I must say! However a bit over my budget considering that I don't need the organs (and other sounds) very much.

Galaxy4t: thanks for the tip! I gotta check that one out
