It is basically a Yamaha P95 with many added features but it uses the same very lightly weighed "GHS" key action as the P95.

I've tried DGX-640, a newer version of 630. Based on the internet review, I thought it should be a good one until I actually tried it. I was so disappointed. Feels soft and springy, sounds electrical. It's a keyboard, not a piano. A lot of voices though, which I don't need. I only need a few good voices, not 100 crappy ones. IMHO, GH vs GHS = acceptable vs unacceptable.

I don't like the GHS action on the P95 because the P95 tries to be a piano. But the DGX630 has so many other voices and piano is just one of the many so I think it's reasonable to compromise. The very firm and weighted GH action might not be the best for non-piano sounds. For example a flute sound is played one note at a time with the right hand while the left is on the mod wheel. I think very light action is best for this kind of playing.

I don't think the piano sound is as good as on the P95. Also, it doesn't have MIDI connectors (just USB).

Yes, that's why I said DGX-630 is a keyboard, not a piano. I was judging it as a piano. I haven't tried P95, but if the action is GHS, then it's a bad piano.

Depends on what OP is looking for...

DGX-640 was tested in the DPBSD project and the main piano sound was very similar to P-95. I don't know if there is a difference in the main piano voice between DGX-630 and DGX-640.
