A Powerful Weapon

The Hebrew word for melody is Nigun, the Hebrew word for protection is ‘Gonen’, in the Hebrew Language these two words are spelled by the same 3 letters of Nun (pronounced Noon) ,Gimel, and Nun again. King David used his music for protection, he is known as the Sweet Singer of Israel. When Joshua came to the city of Jericho, he was able to conquer it after the Israelites circled the city 7 times and then Called with their Ram’s Horns. After the Call of Horns ceased, the walls of Jericho fell.

Music therefore has an immense power, and can be used for protection and as a weapon to win battles.

It could also be used to generate togetherness and peace and love between all people, it has a strong unifying force, that brings harmony to the world.

Music is...

Divine-Inspiration for Mass-Murder?

The walls of the city collapsed, and the Israelites were able to charge straight into the city. The city was completely destroyed, and every man, woman, and child in it was killed. Only Rahab and her family were spared, because she had hidden the two spies sent by Joshua.

Charming story.
Now that Ram's Horns are no longer fashionable it is so difficult to choose appropriate music to accompany a good genocide.

Laughing out loud.

Incidentally, music as a tool in warfare is not unique to the Jewish bible. In many cultures and eras, from Ancient Rome to 21st century America, music was used by an advancing army to terrify their enemy. In the 20th century, the Nazis did it, and the Russians did it. Shostakovich even wrote a symphony to evoke such musical warfare. In the last few years, stories came out about the US Military using music as a method of torture/interrogation.

Music is powerful!

Having to listen to Madonna over and over would be enough to make me confess to anything.
