Thanks to so many of you who commented on my original post (piano advice for a newbie) and whose opinions I read on various other posts, we finally bought our first piano. We ended up with a 6 year old 46" Ritmuller studio upright in near perfect condition (owned by a tech). We only went slightly over budget (started at $1000, paid $1300) Just wanted to share our excitement. My 5 year old didn't even get the pizza cleaned off his face before jumping down to practice when it arrived tonight.

Can't figure out how to post pics - I'll post some if someone can tell me how confused

I hope you guys enjoy it, but please clean the pizza off first! eek

As for pictures, the fourth button from the left above the text field on a full reply (not a quick reply) will prompt you to enter a URL for a picture. If you put the picture on a free hosting site, you can imbed it here in your post.

Here's some pics of our new piano. We're so excited! And, don't worry, there will be no pizza mess on the piano! We made sure his hands were clean, he just couldn't be bothered to spend much time on his face because he was so excited (you can see in the pics).

Congrats! I'm glad your kid has a passion for music. My daughter will be turning 4 in a couple months, and I'm hoping desperately that she'll learn to love piano as much I do as she grows up.

Congratulations!! A beautiful piano; and, the young man sitting at the pianos seems to be in deep thought as he contemplates an understanding of the science of the music!

Sounds to me like you got a great deal too!

Best regards,

Rick

You know, it is so important to have a piano that everyone will enjoy and especially one that works as it should, I hope you really get a life time of enjoyment out of it! smile

Congratulations on your new piano and kudos to you for nurturing your child's musical education. thumb

I love the photos, btw, especially the close-up of the keyboard.
