Hi,

I've opened a youtube page where I'll post my adventures with my great hybrid piano (Yamaha Avantgrand N3)...

I've 4/5 pieces to record yet, There's only one for now.

I'm learning piano for only 6 month (though I have a solid musical background on another instrument) So please, be indulgent smile

Here it is : http://www.youtube.com/user/MrReivol?feature=mhum
Already Recorded :
- Metamorphosis I (P. Glass)

Next will be recorded :
- Gymnopedies I (Satie)
- Prelude in C minor (Rachmaninov)
- Sonatica (Bear Mc Creary)
- Prelude (Bach)

Hope you'll enjoy them smile

Great sound from your piano. I love the Bach prelude, you play very well.

Great job! This is brilliant for such a short period of time.

Can you talk about your recording process? How do you record the sound from the N3? It sounds so clean and resonant.

How do you like the N3?

Thanks smile

There is 2 headphones output on the N3, I'm plugging one of them into my Mac audio input and recording the sound with Audacity. The video is recorded with an iphone. Video and audio are then synced back with iMovie.

Everything is left at the default setting on the N3 (with reverb on)

The sound is indeed very good and it's even better when listening it live without headphones. I'm really very pleased with the N3... I like playing it better than any other upright I've tried, even my piano teacher's one :p ... I'm not an experienced pianist though, so I'm not a good reference wink

btw, I've uploaded two more video, The 1st Gymnopedie (Satie) and the C# prelude (Rachmaninov)

A little update :

After a lot of weekend without enough time, I've actually tried an recorded (at last) Sonatica from Bear Mc Creary tonight. Here it is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIcFmVNJU3E

I'm working now on "Over the Rainbow" as played by Keith Jarett. It will be a lot of work so there won't be any new update soon.

Hope you'll enjoy.
