any possible bypass the sound effects(library) build in but still use the speakers build in?

for example, from clp 340 midi to pc pianoteq, then from pc's stereo output back to clp 340's aux in.

does this make sense? trick point is have to turn off speakers when press down keyboard but need the speakers on when receiving data from "aux in" port.

new & first post. thx!

bgw, yes, that's possible - just set the 'LOCAL CONTROL' MIDI setting to off - the Yamaha's internal sound engine will not produce any sound, however the keyboard will still trigger MIDI events (in Pianoteq) which can be re-routed to the Clavinova's line-in, and played back through the speakers.

Cheers,
James

Yes you can do that. Look in the user manual for the term "local control" you need to disable local control on the piano. Then the piano will be silent and only send out MIDI data.

You don't actually turn off the speakers, you turn off the internal sound generator and leave the speakers on.

I wouldn't recommend it. It will work, just as Chris and KJ suggest. But ...

The external tone generator will improve your piano sound ... but then you'd spoil it by routing it back into the piano's internal speakers.

I think that if you're going to the trouble of adding Pianoteq into the mix, then you also ought to use external speakers. Even a modest sound system will yield a huge improvement.

Either that or a set of recording studio headphones. 'Phones are great for silent practicing.

got it.

yes, sooner or later bypass the builtin speakers...

2 yrs, getting little 'picky', dont like the comewith (2-grand piano) setups anymore, so start thinking some improvements for it.

learned a lot from you guys. thx to you all for the accurate solution/suggestion.
