It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
I was always find myself late at night being stuck in a Youtube loop hole of piano videos. Once in a while I will encounter a rare gem that I will favorite and email it to myself. I thought I should share these videos because they have little views and are very interesting. Please post any rare gems you have found!

I've seen (or own) most of the above links and love them all. Here are some of my favorites...
Sokolov/Couperin (freaking brilliant!!!)
Argerich/Scarlatti (jaw-dropping)
Ashkenazy/10/1 (he owns it...period)
Women in Art Morph/Bach Gmajor cello suite/Yo Yo
Slatkin/BBC Orchestra/Barber Adagio (I remember watching this live and the way it moved me then...it still does today)
Yuja (she's been calling herself Yu Ja for laughs lately)/Bumblebee (I know she gets hit for being more technique than anything else...yes, she has some growing to do...but she blows my mind)

By the way, the Messiaen might be even more "for" me. When I saw it was Turangalila, I was indeed hoping it would be Joy of the Blood of the Stars, the best-named piece ever. Although I know it very well, I've never seen a video of it, much less one conducted by Ricky Gervais. Thanks for sharing.

Messiaen's pieces have some of the best titles ever lol. My favourite is A tangle of rainbows for the Angel who announces the end of time

Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen this before and I thought it was pretty interesting. But I was amazed they used that first clip of Rubinstein haplessly flailing about. I am not usually picky about missed notes, but since they were choosing a video clip (presumably out a fair number of possibilities), why would they choose one so messy? It makes no sense to me.

Do you mean the A-flat Polonaise?? If so, I certainly wouldn't characterize it as you did.
Hermeto plays piano, as well as a bunch of other instruments. I have tuned for him.
BDB, between this and your mention the other day of seeing Yvonne Loriod perform Vingt Regards with Messiaen in attendance, I'm beginning to feel that you have a *lot* of fascinating experiences and stories. If you ever feel like writing about them in more detail, I for one would be all eyes.
