Your post popped up just as I logged on smile

I joined in last year in March too - and I too had been practicing every day. Mark, who managed MOYD before me, put me on the "pure" list - so that's where I'll put you !

Welcome and keep up the good work!

I'd like to be added to the MOYD list 2011 I've got a routine practice plan in place now, and, feel ready to do this.

Couple months since I started. I've been logging my time since I started again in January to countdown from 10,000 hours of practice to "master" piano. 9928 to go! (I'm not buying it but I'm curious how it works out.) At the current rate, I should hit 10,000 in 20 or so years......

Still at it! Not a single break since January 15, and I've been keeping track. Maybe this time for sure!

I'm getting there--note by note.

Haven't been on the forums much this year, but am definitely on the wagon, even if there were a couple of days when all I could manage was 10 minutes played pianississimo so as not to disturb neighbours at 1:00 a.m. Amazing how just knowing that this group exists guilts me into playing every day.

Will have to go on excused list for a month in the fall -- pianos not easy to come by in the wilds of Bolivia and Peru. Will make that arrangement once I have dates finalized.

I'm still hanging in there, even if I'm on the "Excused MOYD" list.

The excused list is a perfectly respectable place to be!!!!

I'm on it too, and still proud of myself and my co-excusees.

We're doing really well - let's keep it up!

So I took my little church trip last week. We stayed at a college campus, and I was pleased to find pianos scattered all over the place on campus, so I snuck out of lunch and got some playing time in. Not the highest quality practice, but it was practice.

So I'm still on the list! Woo-hoo!

I'm still hanging in here! I've got a jury here in a few months that I'm frantically trying to pull together a Chopin piece (started on Monday), Bach piece (playing for approx 2 weeks), and Beethoven piece (haven't even looked at yet) for, so I'm averaging ~3hrs a day. Today my wrist was REALLY hurting, but some ice and ibuprofen have done the trick, thankfully.

Congrats to everyone and your daily practice achievements!

I came really close to having to skip a day but I managed it. I had a really bad flu, had to actually force myself to the piano on last Friday and only played one song but I figured one song counts. Then on Saturday I got way worse and ended up in the ER with pneumonia sickso I figured thats it, I'm gonna loose a day because I hadn't played anything yet. Why I was even worrying about that when I could barely breathe and had an uncontrollable fever I don't know. When I got home a few hours later I actually felt good enough to play a song or two before I crawled back into bed. While I was playing I realized it wasn't midnight yet so I hadn't actually missed a day. thumb

I'll figure it out eventually.
Until then you may want to keep a safe distance.

Sorry to say - put me on the excused list. I had sinus surgery last Friday and have been recovering. Back at it today

Oh yea, the "Excused" is perfectly fine with me. We definitely need to keep at it and I'm sure we will!

Me too. I have a business trip to Philly and NY from April 11th through 15th. I cannot practice unless I see a piano store or something in Philly. In NY, I am planning to touch a piano on the 26th floor of my company.

Farm Girl, give me your updates when you return, you may miss fewer days than you think!

Have a safe trip!

I would like to join. I have put myself on a regular practice schedule in between lessons and this would keep me on track and give me a good reason to get more involved here on the forums! thumb

change is not a sudden happening, it takes time; allow yourself the time that it takes, but take that time to make every effort…
