Soundin' good, ichris87! You did a great job of keeping your tempo consistent. That's a fun arrangement.

Good job, Chris. I agree with Monica. Tempo sounded nice and steady, which is sometimes a challenge. I didn't hear any missed notes, so that's good too. One constructive comment for you. Generally, if you make the melody a little louder than the chords, it will sound better. It takes a bit of practice (like everything else). Keep it up.

Just a curiosity.
Is this a specific version to improve left hand skills?
The melody is on the left and the chords is on the right.

Anyway really good for a one month-experienced player! smile

Thanks for your comment!!
I realized that too!
I am still finding a way that not to use the same strength on both hands smirk

There is actually one thing that I need help from all of you
So far I play piano by my own feeling (counting)
My teacher told me to use 1 , 2 , 3 , 4
But when I use that it will be difficult for me to play frown
I cant synchronize it with my fingers

Is this a obstacle that I can overcome? (to use proper counting)

Your teacher is trying to teach you to count (yes, I know you already know how to count) "while" you're playing. I think that is great that you can "internalize" the rhythm without the need to count (which should be your eventual goal anyway), but its also important to develop and nurture this skill. Trust me, when the rhythms get more complex, this skill will be essential.

When you start your next piece, my advice is that your count and play very sloooowly. If you are unable to do it, you're going too fast. Go as slowly as it takes. Then gradually build your speed until you can do the same, at tempo. On the beginners pieces, that shouldn't be too difficult. Its difficult to count complex rhythms, but that's an issue for later.

Just have patience. It "will" come.

Very nice job, and as others stated, you seem to grasp the fundamentals (counting, rhythm, fingering, and correct notes). As time goes on and these things become 2nd nature, you can start working on dynamics - for example playing the LH melody louder and making it "sing." You will get there - trust me.

PS-thanks for subscribing to my channel, after I subscribed to your's. I have a genuine interest in your progress, as it appears you are a true adult beginner. My mom is currently on Alfred 1 as well, and I like to listen to and get familiar with the repertoire in there and how it's "supposed to be played."

That's so true
Some song I can count it correctly with my mind
but some I cannot
when the time signature changed
My internal count seems to be stubborn to change
thats what I am worry about too :|
I will take the advice and start counting carefully now
thx smile

Just a little thing I notice.
Maybe you should cut your nails a little shorter.
This would help in hitting the keys with the very end of your fingers, vertically.

(Some more experienced players here may want to explain better what I am trying to say with my not-native english smile )

Really nice job.

Think about dynamics a little while you're playing; as a previous poster said, bring out the melody a little.

You play very steadily, which is great at your stage.

This is a great idea and I'm thinking of doing it myself, also a beginner in Alfred's Level 1. You did great playing that! thumb In a way, for us real beginners, it's almost harder to play for a recording than live because I'm conscious of any mistakes being etched in and replayed over and over. However, you've inspired me to try charting my progress... if I can muster the courage. smile

Hi Ichris87,
I think it's great that you are recording your progress from the beginning of your piano journey! I know how difficult it is to learn as an adult and I really admire your perserverance! I would love to subscribe to your channel and offer any advice I can as you progress.

Keep up the great work!
