WHEN A Kurzweil K 2500 is turned on and the screen doesnt light up andx no sound comes out could it be a battery issue or is it as serious as I am afraid it is???? Please help...thank you writehere@usa.com

I have a k2500, so let me give this a try...

First, the battery is there to power your user settings. I don't think that's the problem.

If it were mine, the first thing I would do is check the fuse.

Then, if that's ok -carefully- open it up and see if any of the ribbon cables have come loose. I would pull out each cable and fully re-seat it.

If that doesn't work, send it to the shop.

Sign up for www.sonikmatter.com and try their "emergency room" section. The advice here is good, but there are some very knowledgeable Kurzweil users on Sonikmatter. They have seen it all.
