Hi Kawai James,

This morning I heard about the bad earthquake in Japan... I'm so sorry about that! I hope you're doing well (you're near Tokio, if I remember correctly).

I hope that there is not too many casualties and too much destroyed... What about the KAWAI factories?

My sympathies and all the best!

Awful, just hope there isn't too much suffering inflicted. Take care James and everyone in Japan and the Pacific rim.

Hello chaps,

We felt the quake in Hamamatsu earlier this afternoon. Undoubtedly the strongest, longest earthquake I have ever experienced - the head-office was evacuated, as was the Ryuyo piano factory which is beside the coast.

Tokyo does not appear to have sustained a great deal of damage, however Miyagi prefecture in the north west, in particular the large city of Sendai has been very badly affected. I am sure many of you will have seen the harrowing footage of tsunami waves sweeping across fields, washing away houses and vehicles.

I am scheduled to fly back to the UK tomorrow afternoon, however given today's dipterous events, this is looking highly unlikely.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami.

James

James and everyone in Japan, know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many people around the world and that you will get aid in rescuing survivors and rebuilding from the international community...whatever consolation that gives. frown

I have been to Japan the first 9 years of my life and experienced countless earthquakes, but nothing serious... Good to hear from you, James! My prayers are with the Japanese people.

I missed this thread...was on my mind today about these terrible events. Very glad you are ok James...when you get home to the fine city of Norwich you can unwind and revel in the way life just comfortingly ticks along at its steady, predictable pace.

Best wishes to everyone in Japan.

Steve
