Hello,
I'm the proud owner of a Yamaha P85. I just started to notice a small noise over the piano sound, and I'm not sure if it occurs on every devices. You can hear this sound also when the volume is put on OFF.

So, by setting the volume on OFF, could you please just check if by bringing your ear very close to the speakers, if there is some little noise anytime you press a note ? it should produce some sound at the same pitch of the note that you play. (maybe a silent room may help to discern the sound).

When I play at night, sometimes I can here this little noise over the normal sound, because I put the volume quite low. It's not really anoying, and that's probably because I'm a perfectionist and have a good ear too :-) Also I hope that's not the start point for serious trouble with the keyboard.

Thank you very much ! It seems it is not a real problem and I hope I can keep my keyboard for a few more years, I'm so happy with it.
Thanks again smile

At the time of the old discussion thread I linked to, I didn't have headphones. I found the sound was more noticable when I started using headphones, but it doesn't bother me, with or without headphones.

I usually play loud, at least 80% master volume (the slider on the P85.) By the way do you use headphones? This piano sounds better through decent headphones than it's internal speakers.

Just wanted to point to the old thread to show how people commented and dealt with this issue, but I'd be happy to continue this discussion here if you like.
