I just got an m audio dcp300, yes I know some of you don't like m audio. However, I believe in shipping, 3 of the lowest bass keys were loose, and I can't seem to wiggle them in. I read on a forum this happened to someone with a yamaha arius and they just opened up the bottom and fixed it. I'm not about to do that, but the retailer(an independent shop)told me m audio would fix it.
One thing, is this common with digital pianos? Keys coming out of the keybeds ever so often? Or should I really worry and return this one? I really liked the sound and this model, but this kind of frustrates me after spending the money. Anyone have any similar experiences or suggestions?

While I haven't experienced that particular problem I would have no qualms about opening up the unit and seeing if I could repair it.

If it's not too much of a hassle to return, take it back and let the store deal with it. Ask for a temporary keyboard and maybe you'll get lucky.

There really aren't many options right? Fix it yourself or return it.

I've opened up every keyboard I've ever owned. You'd be surprised how many screws are not completely tightened in a brand new keyboard.

When my Privia was first delivered I had an issue with some of the keys, and there was no way I was going to try unscrewing bits to reseat anything, as there's the risk that you'd be blamed for any problem and warranty invalidation etc.

Get the manufacturer/retailer to sort it out.

Thanks, yeah, I will send it back to the manufacturer.
Not sure if it happened during shipping, but it's sort of nerve racking to think it could get fixed and then messed up again reshipping it back to me. Yes, i'm paranoid.

I think that is a legitimate fear, waderck. The keys were probably messed up due to being jostled around in strange orientations during shipping. It's still not likely to happen again.

Proud owner of a Casio PX-330. Hope to buy a fancier Roland someday.
