Just tuned a piano that I can't find in the Pierce Piano Atlas. Did anyone ever hear of a "Raymoor" piano? It was manufactured in Albany, NY. and I'm guessing it has to be about 80 years old. Beautiful cabinet and still in good condition.

Nope. Sure of the spelling? Was it on the fall board or on the plate? Some pianos that were only made for a very brief period of time may have been omitted from the book.

Could be too that the name Raymoor was the dealers name placed on the piano?

Maybe it's an offshoot of some other brand the company actually made? Like Baldwin did with Acrosonics? Just a couple of guesses... 2¢ worth.

I occasionally see Canadian pianos in my area with names I've never heard of. There were also Department stores in some towns years ago that put their own decals and names on pianos they sold.

I always evaluate off-brand pianos on their observable merits. Some of them with questionable pedigrees turn out to be pretty decent instruments. Then there are the others.... OY!
