Thanks Steve! It's a breath of fresh air not being forced to listen to multiple loops unnaturally quivering together in a quick nose-dive to the noise floor.

Yes, it's one thing I've caught myself doing with the Nord...when a note is decaying I'll lift off and kill it before the looping becomes obvious - never an issue with SN.

Antonio, very nice playing but the piano on your clip does exhibit the same "metallic edge", when pushed, which I disliked about the SN card in my GX from the get-go.

Steve, your clip of SN4 has me intrigued and a bit baffled. I was ready to really like that particular patch, as I knew it had come in for a fair amount of praise here and on the Clan forum, but out of the box here, it sounded even more metallic than Antonio's sample (which I think is SN1?) - in fact almost CP70-like.

However, your recording of SN4 exhibits none of that and sounds really good. Can you recall what tweaks, if any, you made to get there? As of even date, the GX remains unsold, so I'd like to give it another chance at least while it's still here in the studio.

Hi Aidan - No tweaks as such...from memory the piano lid is set at 4 or 5 and touch offset adjusted to make the key touch slightly heavier than medium (medium plus 8 ish). Little bit of reverb and that's it I think. I'll give it some thought but I don't think I did anything else at all...never been much of a tweaker!

Cheers,

Steve

I BOUGHT MY RD-700NX TODAY smile

But I have the issue of low sound volume with my AKG 240 mk2. Volume at 50% is really too low for playing ??? Any idea ?

Does some of you use a headphone amp ?

@ B.Michels

I also use Akg 240mk2 with my NX and most time I set volume to 45%. With this setting it is like sitting in front of a real piano (volume-wise).
